Stern pool table approx. 1936 with original coin operated balls
For sale is a "star billiard table" with an extremely rare coin-operated machine which is still functional and the original billiard / billiard balls and other accessories. The table has a marble top without damage and is made of oak.
The information was given to me by two experts who are from the machine compartment and from the billiard / billiard club.
This billiard machine / billiard machine was built in the 20th century by Walter Fuhrmann, Berlin. The year of production can be set very precisely to 1936 by means of a patent. That also fits the design.
The name DRGM is on the cash register. That stands for German Imperial Utility Model. These only existed from 1891 and 1945.
The one from Fuhrmann dates from 1936. The automaton is a rarer model than the Argus.
For orientation: The prices for an "Argus" from the Leipzig company Jentzsch & Meerz (everything original, balls there and cues original) are between 1500-1900 €.
In the years 1933-1938 billiard / billiard machines were built like a dime a dozen. The reason was that the Nazis banned slot machines (with profit). Due to the war, the destruction, the lack of space and the good firewood, not many tables have been preserved in their original condition.
It is played like a pinball machine - the balls are played indirectly from front to back into the holes with a score.
The table is made of heavy oak, the top is made of marble, the machine is made of iron. The original billiard / billiard balls consist of the usual material as was common back then.
